Ya debes de poder arrancar ambos sistemas. Ahora es cosa de quitar los 'kernels' de Ubuntu que ya no uses...

Pues siento decepcionarte, pero está tal y como antes, es más, de grub2 nanai que cuando reinicio me vuelve a salir el 0.97 y solo debian como s.o.
Creo que al actualizar el grub algo falla nose
